First there was one, then two… now there are THREE rational groups in Fresno!
(Obviously we are taking over the whole city – one coffeeshop at a time.)
I’d like to introduce you to Skeptics Without a Cause, organized by Anthroslug and Kaylia. From the group discription:
A spin-off of Santa Cruz County’s Skeptics Without a Cause (SWAC), this group is dedicated to providing a social outlet for those who hold science, critical thinking, and evidence dear. Meetings are informal social events, with no political or activist agenda, but are simply places for skeptics and rationalists to talk, share ideas, and have fun in a relaxed atmosphere while promoting skepticism and critical thinking.
I was privileged to make the introduction of Kaylia and Anthroslug and other SWAC members at the last CVAAS Drinking Skeptically meeting. We had a great time together, and I’m looking forward to attend more of their meetings – and maybe collaborating on a future event.
So between the Humanists of San Joaquin Valley, The Central Valley Alliance of Atheists and Skeptics, and the Skeptics Without a Cause, there really is no reason why a skeptic or secular person can’t find someplace to belong in Fresno.
