The movie about the life of Charles Darwin will finally make it to America.

According to a Creation_Movie tweet, it is due to open in San Francisco on January 22nd, 2010.  The theater location and time has not yet been announced.  It is unknown when (or if) the movie will make it to the San Joaquin Valley.

Although the world premier took place on September 10, 2009 in Toronto, it had a difficult time finding a distributor in the United States due to prevailing American opinions about evolution.   The Anaheim Evangelical Examiner informs us that the distributor that finally purchased the North American rights to Creation is Newmarket Films.  Newmarket Films is also widely known for marketing of the movie, “The Passion of the Christ.”

The movie is based on a biography of Darwin called, “Annie’s Box” – written by his great-great-grandson Randal Keynes.  The title of the biography comes from the Keynes’ discovery of a box of keepsakes that belonged to Darwin’s daughter Anne.
