In order to continue our celebration of the “Year of Darwin”, CVAAS members will be going on the “Trail of Lights” walking tour of California Cavern. California Cavern is located in Mountain Ranch, California. (About an hour and 33 mins NE of Stockton CA).
If you need a ride, want to carpool, or want to be part of the convoy, then gather at the Starbucks located at Shields and Highway 41 starting at 7 a.m. on August 16th. We will depart Fresno at 7:30 a.m. (See map)
The trip is about 3 hours. If you would like to meet somewhere along the way then call (559) 892-0102. This number will also be used as a contact number during the trip.
The price for the cavern tour is $14.25 per adult, $7.15 per child. The tour is between 60-80 minutes long.
The caves may have other entertainment. Some caves are equipped with a ZIP line, which will cost an additional $40 to ride. There will also be shops and food for those who are interested, so plan accordingly.
You should also dress accordingly. The cave temperature is 55 degrees F. Standard shoes should work fine.
