Fresno Pride Festival and Parade – June 4th

2016FRPlogo-medium The Central Valley Alliance of Atheists and Skeptics will once again participate in Fresno’s yearly Pride Festival and Parade, June 4th 2016 in the Tower District, from 10am to 3pm.

This yearly event is hosted by Community Link, a supporter of the LGBT community.

CVAAS has a lot of fun at this event.  We walk and ride in the parade, and we host an information and merchandise booth at the event.

Our presence at this event always prompts interesting responses and encourages secular discussion.  During the parade we will often receive cheers and thumbs up, and members of the parade audience will often yell “Thank You!”.

At the festival itself most people are very happy to see us – and everyone who stops by is offered a “Get Out of Hell Free” card.

There are religious people who stop by and question us.  We work very hard to be kind, cheerful and respectful of everyone.

paradeYou are welcomed and encouraged to join us as we support the local LGBT community while at the same time increasing the visibility of the secular community.  It is a lot of fun and a little bit of work.

And don’t forget to join us the day after the Pride Festival as we meet for Drinking Skeptically.  Over a cold beverage and some food we will meet new friends and welcome old friends.  And we will recount the highlights of the Pride Festival and the fun we had.

If you would like to join us in the Pride Parade, please RSVP on our Meetup page.
